Ireland - West Coast

The man who runs the Tourist Office was happy to close up shop and take us for a bit of a tour around his town. This is the advantage of being here out of the official tourist season! He was very knowledgable and had some great stories on the history of Askeaton. We were a little limited on where we walked at the Askeaton Castle due to renovations. The wall that enclosed the castle grounds is all that remains of the 12th century castle. The Great Hall, you see here, was erected later in the mid 1400s.
